Deja Voodoo - Three Men, One Coffin
Missing, presumed awesome…
Deja Voodoo, from Montreal, were a two-piece self-proclaimed Sludge-a-billy band inspired by The Cramps, Hasil Adkins and The Legendary Stardust Cowboy. From 1981 to 1990 they were perhaps the most important Canadian band that no one (or only a rabid few, anyway) had heard of. Deja Voodoo toured Canada by Greyhound bus and Europe (probably by Edsel) on several occasions. They hosted their own regular Voodoo BBQ music festival… and most importantly, they founded Og Records, which released 29 albums of great Canadian material that gained Deja Voodoo, and many other bands, much more exposure than Punk / Alternative /Unclassifiable bands were used to getting at that time. Three Men, One Coffin is from the great Og compilation album, It Came From Canada Volume 2. All five It Came From Canada’s are essential listening for those interested in Canadian music history… and awesome music.

Tiger Army - Cupid’s Victim
Found some old CD’s while cleaning up the place. Great band that always reminds me of people from my past that I miss.

The Detroit Cobras - Only To Other People (Originally by The Cookies)
I’ve never been able to pinpoint the reason behind the emotional response this song always gives me. Nothing crazy, mind you, just brief chills up my spine and the inability to focus on anything else besides Rachel Nagy’s haunting vocals whenever this one comes on my iPod.
Plus, it doesn’t hurt that Ms. Nagy is a stunning dame that I’ll always have a thing for (especially after having a brief, flirtatious chat with her at Emo’s last May).
It’s a shame that the girl I was with at that time still has all of my Detroit Cobras CDs, and we don’t speak anymore. What a funt.
Ded Ded Ded - Hilera
I always want to post this song as a my Facebook status, but the deliberate mispelling of “dead” just makes it look like I can’t spell.
Favorite song off of Nut House.
No. Post it. If people don’t get it, they are dumb.
